Writing an atmospheric ghost story set in an old house on the banks of the Avon River has seen Christchurch childrens’ author Bill Nagelkerke listed in the Storylines Notable New Zealand Books 2007.

Christchurch City Libraries Childrens and Young Adult Services Co ordinator, Bill Nagelkerke, is listed in the Storylines Childrens’ Literature Charitable Trust Notable New Zealand Books 2007. His book Old Bones was listed in the Junior Fiction selection of books suitable for primary and intermediate age children.

Bill has been publishing stories for children since 1985, initially in the School Journal. He now has a number of books published and you can find these at Christchurch City Libraries. He also has another book due out this year - Sitting on the Fence The Diary of Martin Daly, Christchurch, 1981 which is set at the time of the Springbok Tour of 1981. You can read one of Bill’s stories the Young Magician’s Club on the Christchurch City Libraries’ website, along with dozens of other stories by New Zealand childrens’ authors.
