Library Week, 10-16 August 2009

New Zealand’s Library Week is usually held in August, celebrating everything that’s great about our libraries up and down the country. Library Week is coordinated by LIANZA, the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa.

Christchurch City Libraries celebrates library week each year with library displays, talks and by particpating in the nation-wide 'NZ's Biggest Storytime' where a single children's book is read simultaneously across the country.

At 10:30am on Wednesday 12th August children, librarians, parents and teachers will gather in libraries all across the country for this very special Library Week event. The story being reading this year is Itiiti's Gift by New Zealand author Melanie Drewery, illustrated by Fifi Colston. This title is available in english or te reo.
