Christchurch City Council Recreation and Sports Centres holiday programmes

The Christchurch City Council runs holiday programmes for children. The programmes feature activities including sports, art, baking and cooking, movies, and visits to Christchurch landmarks. These programmes run city wide and are aimed at children between the ages of five and 13 years.

Summertime Reading Club

This popular activity happens each year over the summer holidays. Children read books they enjoy, fill out a reading log, and go in the draw for some great prizes!

The winners of Summertime Reading Club 2010

After a busy summer of reading where 576 children completed 779 reading logs and read a whopping 4674 books, the winners of book prize packs from Barrington Paper Plus were:
