Library Week, 16 - 22 August 2010
This week is Library Week.
Usually held in August, Library Week celebrates everything that’s great about our libraries up and down the country.
In 2010 there are a number of competitions and promotions nationwide. Visit the Library Week website for details.
Library Week is co-ordinated by LIANZA, the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa.
Christchurch City Libraries events
Christchurch City Libraries celebrates Library Week each year with library displays and promotions, and by participating in 'NZ's Biggest Storytime' — where a single children's book is read simultaneously across the country.
NZ's Largest Storytime reading
At 10:30am on Wednesday 18 August children, librarians, parents and teachers will gather at Parklands Library and New Brighton Library to read Mr Muggs the library cat by New Zealand author Dave Gunson.
Parents, bring your children and their friends along to share a story during Library Week and find out who the special guest storyteller at your library is!
