Rachael King

Rachael King is one of sixty authors attending The Press Christchurch Writers Festival from September 4th to 7th, 2008

Rachael King has worked for various magazines, including Rip It Up, Staple and Pavement, and for bFM, where she was a sales rep, DJ and host of the Culture Bunker for a brief period in the early 1990s.

Her first novel, The Sound of Butterflies, sat in the top three on the bestselling New Zealand fiction list for 12 weeks when it was published in July 2006 and is being translated into six other languages.

Rachael is currently the 2008 Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at University of Canterbury.
