Contemporary women fiction writers

Subject headings

You can get subject access to fiction through the library Catalogue by entering the subject and clicking on the Subject key.

Although we don't have broad categories such as WOMEN - FICTION, we do have a lot of fiction subject headings which bring up a good selection of novels on themes relevant to women's lives. Good examples are:

(A lot of strong contemporary novels on the relationships between mothers and daughters here.)

There are also, of course, novels about famous female characters like Elizabeth I (Elizabeth I, Queen of England, 1533-1603 -- Fiction), Cleopatra (Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, d. 30 B.C. -- Fiction) and Mary, Queen of Scots (Mary, Queen of Scots, 1542-1587 -- Fiction), etc.

Search for them by typing in the name and then fiction, eg:
Sheppard, Kate, 1848 _ 1934 _ Fiction. Find the entry we give to the person first then add fiction.
