Brief History
One of the earlier cemeteries, which still has room for new burials, Sydenham Cemetery opened in 1896. Situated alongside Somerfield Park it is typical of the older style, featuring mostly large memorials with concrete surrounds, but it also allows for standard upright memorials and plaques on beams in the newer area.
A new ashes and full interment area has been developed on the site of the old Sexton’s house.
