The CWA New Blood Dagger
The New Blood Dagger is awarded in memory of CWA founder John Creasey, for first books by previously unpublished writers. This dagger is sponsored from 2003 by BBC Audiobooks. Publisher Chivers Press was the sponsor from its introduction in 1973 till 2002. This award, previously The John Creasey Memorial Award, is voted on by past winners, and the prize consists of an ornamental dagger and £1,000 (about $1,850/€1,450).
