Auckland Writers and Readers Festival 2009
Christchurch City Libraries connects you with the Auckland Writers and Readers Festival 2009.
This year's festival includes the announcement of the Commonwealth Writers Prize, as well as a visit from four of the staff of the New Yorker and acclaimed authors such as Monica Ali, Mohammad Hanif, Tash Aw and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Plenty of local talent also featured, with writers such as Kirsty Gunn, Kate de Goldi and Lloyd Jones.
Our coverage
In 2009 a team of four covered the festival on the library blog. Joyce Fraser, Moata Tamaira, Robyn Stewart and Richard Liddicoat also posted an audio wrap-up of each day's activities. In 2008 we posted from the festival on the Christchurch City Libraries blog and published interviews with authors. See also the 2007 coverage.
