Rebecca Priestley is one of sixty authors who attended The Press Christchurch Writers Festival from September 4th to 7th, 2008

Science writer and historian Rebecca Priestley is working on her PhD: Nuclear New Zealand: a journey through New Zealand's nuclear and radiation history.

Rebecca also reviews popular science and science history books for The Listener and The Dominion Post, and writes for the health and science pages of The Listener. In 2006, she co-curated Butterflies, Boffins & Black Smokers: Two centuries of science in New Zealand, an exhibition at the National Library Gallery in Wellington.

She has contributed science history artices to Te Ara - The online encyclopedia of New Zealand (see Radioactive minerals for example).

Her most recent book, co-written with Veronika Meduna, is Atoms, Dinosaurs and DNA: 68 great New Zealand scientists.
