Preview the new Central Library

New Central Library

The design for the New Central Library has been released. It will be a cultural hub for Christchurch and an important civic space that attracts people back to the central city. It incorporates ideas from the people of Christchurch, including vibrant family-friendly areas and quiet spaces to read and study, as well as access to new technology, community and reading spaces, comfortable furniture, a children’s play area, and a café.
