Internet access at Christchurch City Libraries
About internet access
Need help?
Searchable, web-based help files have been created for customer use and contain subject headings and FAQs for quick navigation.
- All our libraries, with the exception of the Mobile Library, provide free internet access to the public via wifi and/or desktop computers.
- Public computers and the free wifi service are available free of charge to Library members and visitors alike.
- All internet access is governed by our Internet Use Policy.
· Our public computers are available on a first-come first-served basis. If all computers at a location are in use, an automated queuing system operates.
· We provide free access to a wide range of software on our public computers.
PCs can access USB drives at all our libraries. You can purchase a USB from many of our libraries. Some PCs have a flash memory card reader attached to enable access to your memory card e.g. Sony memory stick.
Headsets are also available for purchase.
Why is internet access free?
In the same way that we don’t charge people to come into a library and browse our books and magazines, we offer free public access to information available through the internet. This is one of our Digital Library services.
Let us know what you think
