Personal Identification Numbers (PINs)
What are PINs for?
PINs allow you to access your library account information and place holds on items through the online catalogue. They also allow you to see which items you have on loan. To see your account information enter My Account.
Your PIN also gives you free access to the Source — paid services the library subscribes to.
How do I get a PIN?
Ask at one of our libraries or phone. Please have your library card handy. Once you have a PIN you can change it in the My Account section of the catalogue.
Choosing a new PIN
Your PIN can be a mixture of between 4 and 10 numbers and letters long. Customers tell us that they prefer to use an easy to remember number. However, we recommend that you do not use sequences of numbers that appear on your barcode.
The Source
The library subscribes to a wide range of online resources from specialist websites through to research databases. There is something for everyone: from fun games and animated stories for children, to study guides for teens, encyclopædias and dictionaries, resources for the family research fan, through to online newspapers, music, video, and audio books. As these services are provided free for library members, we ask you to enter both your library card number and PIN. Use the Source now.
