Central Library Manchester houses the following collections:

  • Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Ngā Pounamu Māori
  • Local Government (historical agendas, minutes)
  • Ngāi Tahu Collection / Ngā Rākau Teitei e Iwa

Family History resources include electoral rolls, microfilm newspaper files, and telephone and business directories.

Central Library Manchester also offers:

  • General fiction, nonfiction, best sellers and biographies
  • Large print and talking books
  • Graphic novels
  • Young adult titles
  • 80 magazine titles
  • Newspapers – The Press, Christchurch Star, Otago Daily Times, New Zealand Herald, Dominion Post

Due to limited space at Central Library Manchester there is no children’s section (Central Library Peterborough has an extended children’s area).
