This photograph, taken from Ilam Road, shows part of the large block of land subdivided for housing by the Lands and Survey Dept. after World War Two (1939-1945). A section of 23.1 perches was set aside near the corner on the left for a picture theatre, and soon after this photograph was taken shops were built on the empty site
