[1911]

"This handsome Chapel has taken about twelve months to build, and is a compliment to the energy of the Sisters for whose use it has been established, and who collected the money for the building. On Thursday afternoon the solemn rites of dedication were conducted by his Lordship Bishop Grimes, who, among others, was assisted by the Revs. Father Price and Hoare, Master of the Ceremonies, Fathers Doall and Ginaty, and there were present the Revs. Fathers Hanrahan, Hicken, Fanning, Dignan, Leen, Graham, and Quinn ". The other convent buildings were demolished in 1994 and the chapel was threatened with demolition. The City Council bought it in May 1996 for community use, restored it, and reopened it in Oct. 2000
