About the Source
The library subscribes to a wide range of online resources from specialist websites through to research databases for our library members to access for free. We call it the Source.
What’s in the Source?
The Source has something for everyone: from fun games and animated stories for children, to study guides for teens, encyclopædias and dictionaries, resources for the family research fan, through to online newspapers, music, video, and audio books.
You can:
- Download audiobooks with OverDrive and listen to them on your iPod (or other MP3 player)
- Read today’s New Zealand and world newspapers, cover-to-cover, using PressDisplay
- Listen to thousands of classical, jazz and world music tracks online with NAXOS Music Library or Music Online
- Search Encyclopædia Britannica and other online reference sources
- Trace your family history with Ancestry.com (in libraries only)
- Browse the world’s most trusted reference collection in Oxford Reference Online
- Read thousands of magazines & journals online at EbscoHost
Use the Source now
To access the Source, enter your library card number and PIN. Some resources can only be accessed from within our libraries. Some resources are available for all to use because Christchurch City Libraries have developed, currently maintain or have made a significant contribution to the resource.
