Reading Crusade Prize Giving

On Tuesday 8th April the prize-giving for the Reading Crusade was held in the Centre for the Child in the Central City Library of the Christchurch City Libraries.

Proud parents and teachers were on hand to see Reading Crusaders Reuben Thorne and Richie McCaw present signed Crusader posters and book vouchers to 20 lucky winners.

Jack from Beckenham School was the winner of the grand 'Crusader for a day' prize, and was presented with a signed Crusaders jersey. He will be spending time with the Crusaders one day during the school holidays.

A special presentation was made to two girls representing Villa Maria College who had the best percentage return of entries - an impressive 84%.

A total of 7265 entries were received from 122 Christchurch primary and intermediate schools, marking an impressive 87,000 books read during the course of the Reading Crusade.
