Parenting Week is an initiative of the Children's and Youth Advocacy office of the Christchurch City Council.

- Baby Time
- Songs and rhymes for babies and parents.
10.30am-11.00am, Shirley Library.
Suitable for parents and children aged 0-2 years. - Reading Readiness
- Pre-reading activities, crafts, games and ideas to help your child learn to read.
1.30pm-2.30pm, Centre for the Child, Central Library. - Family Games Night
- X boxes and Playstations will be available for bookings by parents to play with their children.
5.00pm-7.00pm. South Christchurch Library.
Bookings are essential and are for 30-minute sessions. - Storytelling
- Storytelling with Liz Weir.
10.00am-10.30am, Bishopdale Library.
Suitable for preschoolers aged 2-5 years and parents.

- Hooked on Reading
- Join Liz Weir, storyteller and teacher, for this session on how to help your child become a life-long reader. Preparing your child for reading can be a fun, fulfilling experience for both child and parents and best of all it isn’t difficult to do.
