TV2 KidsFest is New Zealand's biggest annual children's festival. Aimed at kids up to the age of 12, there's nothing quite like it anywhere else in the country. TV2 KidsFest took place for the first time in 1992, beginning as an idea from the then Mayor, Vicki Buck. Since 1992 the festival has entertained over 350,000 children at over 1500 events.
TV2 KidsFest is on from Saturday 30 June to Friday 13 July: the theme for the 2007 TV2 KidsFest is transportation: planes, trains, boats, cars, skateboards, scooters

Digital Travelling Stories
Enter the land of story telling. Create your own adventure story or adapt your favourite story and present it as a digital story. Use the technology, Paint pictures, Super Duper Music Looper music creation, and record narrations. Bring your characters alive by adding motion. There is an opportunity to present your Digital Travel story to an audience in the library. This is a multiple session course. Children need to bring snacks/lunch with them.

Travelling Reporter
Ever considered being a reporter or photographer? Learn from a professional photographer the tricks of the trade and capture the stories about how people travel to libraries. This is a one and a half day course. First day: Learn how to shoot a great image and convey a powerful message about people. Second day: Share these images and stories in a library exhibition. Children need to bring snacks/lunch with them.
