Vince Ford won the Tom Fitzgibbon award in 1998 with his first novel 2Much4u. The novel went on to win the 2000 NZ Post Book Award for Junior Fiction and an honour award for a first time author. Vince has gone on to publish a number of other titles including It’s A Try and the wonderful Handful of Blue.His most recent title Boyznbikes was short listed for the 2007 NZ Post Book Award.Vince is currently working on a trilogy, Chronicles of Stone, set in the late ice age.He was the College ofEducation, University of Otago writer in residence this year and the Creative New Zealand Iowa Writers Resident in 2001.

Vince’s stories are based in rural New Zealand and are skilfully told with lots of humour.He is a sought-after speaker with the Writers in School programme and we are delighted to have him on our Not Just for Boys panel.
