About getting digital images

This material has been provided for private study purposes (such as school projects, family and local history research) and any published reproduction (print or electronic) may infringe copyright law.
- Images in our digital collections are from various sources and may have differing copyright restrictions.
- Christchurch City Libraries is able to provide a high resolution file (TIFF) for some, but not all, images on our site, depending on our agreements with donors.
- Image quality depends on the original source and on the technology used to digitise or photograph the item, therefore resolution and image quality will vary.
If you use an image from our digital collection in any context please acknowledge Christchurch City Libraries as the source, quoting the image number. If possible link back to the original. Learn more about using content on our website.
Personal Use
If your purpose is private study, and there are no restrictions on use, then you may take a copy of the image. For a free, low resolution image right click on the image and save the file to your computer.
Publication and Commercial Use
If you wish to use the images for commercial purposes, or to publish the image, you must contact Christchurch City Libraries in all circumstances to seek permission for the intended use. Note that there are licensing restrictions which may prevent the commercial use of some library material.
