C. W. Turner's Canterbury Flour Mills, 234 Cashel Street, Christchurch

Charles Wesley Turner (1834-1906) is better known as a Canterbury shipowner but he was also a grain merchant. In the 1880s he made a bid to take over all the flour mills in Canterbury. He bought in turn the City Mill in Christchurch, the Canterbury Flour Mills and other flour mills in south Canterbury. See: From the banks of the Avon, p 55
