This business was established by Messrs Nind, Ward & Co. and purchased from them by T. Bunting & Co. in September 1895. The firm manufactured all kinds of household brushware and were contractors to the New Zealand Government. At this time Chester Street ran from the East Belt (Fitzgerald Avenue) through to Durham Street. This business was at 117-123 Chester Street; R.P. Hatch, stationer and haberdasher, at 262 Colombo Street
