[ca. 1860]
Henry Inwood emigrated to Canterbury with his family on the Lady Nugent in 1851. He was a farmer and had a wool wash and tannery business in the Sandhills from the 1850s, in what was then the very remote Burwood-New Brighton area. He was the first person buried in the Burwood Anglican churchyard.
