An approach to the lower flower garden.
Caption: An approach to the lower flower garden. It will be noticed that the Narcissi are here much in evidence, and are flowering freely. Those on the right of the picture are all of the Bennett Poe variety. This is a lovely hybrid, the result of a cross between Emperor and Triandus. At Otahuna it does well and there are thousands of bulbs in full flower at the present time. This variety is very scarce in the Old World, and commands still a very high price.
Description: In the gardens of Otahuna, Tai Tapu, Canterbury. The residence of Lieut. Colonel R. Heaton Rhodes, M.P.
