The Glenroy sheep bridge.
Caption: The Glenroy sheep bridge. The bridge is situated seven miles from Hororata, and spans the Hororata river. It is 60ft in length, 4ft wide, and built of jarrah. It has only been built a few months. It was completely swept to one side, and left high and dry. The river rose quite 4ft above normal.
Description: Heavy rain on December 28th and 29th resulted in the flooding of Canterbury rivers. The Selwyn rose to a height not seen for 38 years. This photograph was taken by Mr P. F. Nash from Christchurch who was holidaying at Hororata.
