Messrs. J. Ballantyne and Company's furniture factory, Tuam Street, Christchurch
[1900?]
This factory, a building 90 ft. by 60 ft., aimed to produce furniture that would bear comparison with anything that could be imported. The management at Ballantyne's felt that there was unfair opposition by locals to colonial-made articles. The work was later displayed in the firm's showroom at Dunstable House, Cashel Street, Christchurch
