Patterson's Stream bridge
Patterson's Stream bridge
[1907]
"A large fire broke out in the Kowai Bush where, after raging for some days, it attacked Paterson's Creek [i.e. Pattersons Stream]Bush, a favourite picnic resort on the Midland Railway line. Most of the pretty patches of native bush were destroyed and the fire, sweeping through the Government Timber Reservation, destroyed the Government sawmill there. The fire afterwards passed on to Oxford where it attacked the bush, destroying a large quantity. " -- The weekly press
