Christchurch City Abattoir, Sockburn, Christchurch
[ca. 1900]
Most of the stock killed there came from the saleyards at Addington where stock from the South Island and some from the North Island came to be sold every Wednesday at the biggest sale of its kind in New Zealand. Killing was done at the abattoir on behalf of nearly 600 butchers. See The city of Christchurch / Ernest D. Hoben.
