Rachael King is a New Zealand novelist.

Rachael King has worked for various magazines, including Rip It Up, Staple and Pavement, and for bFM, where she was a sales rep, DJ and host of the Culture Bunker for a brief period in the early 1990s.

Published works

Her first novel, The Sound of Butterflies, sat in the top three on the bestselling New Zealand fiction list for 12 weeks when it was published in July 2006 and has been translated into several other languages.

Rachael was the 2008 Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at University of Canterbury.

Magpie Hall was published in 2009.
