A former English teacher, James Norcliffe is a well-established Christchurch poet and writer. As well as writing, Norcliffe is poetry editor for Takahe magazine, organises reading events through the Poetry Collective, and co-ordinates a weekly poem for The Press.
The second book in his science fiction trilogy, the Assassin of Gleam, won him the Sir Julius Vogel award in 2006.
