Holiday time — think library

Find out about NZ Music Month at your libraryIt's nearly Easter, which means school holidays and the last long weekend before winter. So it's time to think library — get guidebooks to help you explore, motor manuals to help with pre-holiday vehicle maintenance and pick up some new titles or a talking book for your holiday reading.

If you're not heading away — check our opening hours and visit your nearest library while everyone else is out of town.

Try holiday programmes

Heard of Wordle? Gone to Glogster? It might all be geek to you, but younger family members will love Christchurch City Libraries holiday programmes — fun and affordable courses for 5 to 15 year olds. Held at our Learning Centres during April, there's a great range of affordable courses — check the programme calendar for full details and contact us to make a booking. Programmes for families and adults run until September.

Live, local music during May

May is the tenth annual New Zealand music month, and there'll be more than 50 performances at libraries. Our extensive New Zealand music collection includes CDs, DVDs, biographies and music history, as well as learn-to-play resources, scores and sheet music. Find out more about our music collections.

Stay in touch

There's always heaps happening at libraries — check our monthly theme page. In April we look at practical guides, May's Kiwi music, and in June we celebrate winter and Matariki.
