The Clarendon Hotel, Christchurch

Built by J. Otley in brick and stone on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Worcester Street in 1902 and designed by Joseph Clarkson Maddison (1850-1923), this was the second Clarendon Hotel on the site. There were 11 bedrooms on the first floor and 17 on the second. The main entrance to the hotel was on Worcester Street. In 1908 the proprietors were Mrs Reid and Mrs Flewellyn
