The old Christchurch quay, Ferry Road

Built in 1851, it was also known as Montgomery's Wharf and was the first to be built on the Heathcote River. This was one of the wharves where merchandise was landed which had been brought up the Heathcote River from Lyttelton before the opening of the Lyttelton Tunnel
