Caption: The Lincoln Ploughing Match Association’s tenth annual competition at Springston. The Lincoln Association’s annual ploughing match was held at Springston, and thirty-nine competitors took part. (1) The Lincoln Agricultural College four-horse team, best on the ground. (2) Mr J. W. Hanna (Sefton), first prize three-furrow coulter cut, cast shares (and at Ellesmere match). (3) Mr W. G. Carter (Sockburn), first prize double-furrow, coulter cut, cast shares (maiden). (4) The team of Mr E. E. Jenkins (Dunsandel), winners of the prize for the best five or six-horse team at Lincoln and Ellesmere matches. (5) Mr H. Fletcher’s (Springston) best-groomed four-horse team. (6) Mr P. V. Barley’s (Springston) team, winners of three special prizes for the turn-out.
