Description: Farmers Day at Lincoln College was the name given to the annual gathering of farmers at the Canterbury Agricultural College at Lincoln. In 1909 it was held on December 21st in beautiful conditions. The morning was spent in inspecting the crops and herds, the visitors being driven around in drags an afterwards a luncheon was held in a large marquee on the sports ground and a prize presentation ceremony took place. This photo shows from left to right: Mr E. H. Hughes, Mr R. E. Alexander (Director of the College) and Mr Walter Macfarlane.
