Digital Library Web Team 150 tukutuku panel
This panel was designed, created and constructed by the Digital Library Web Team, as part of the Tukutuku project in 2009 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Christchurch City Libraries.
Patikitiki – Plenty of Fish in the Online Sea
- Plastic scoubidous, silver thread, coloured ribbon, copper wire, fimo
- 122 x 60 cm.
Patikitiki – the Flounder is the traditional symbol of abundance. Our team deals with the abundance of information that is available on and able to be delivered by the Internet.
Patikitiki takes central place in our design. The colours surrounding Patikitiki are representative of the four key web sites the team manages:
- Green – the library website christchurchcitylibraries.com
- Blue/Purple – Pulse thepulse.org.nz
- Orange – Cinch cinch.org.nz
- Red – localeye localeye.info
On the body of Patikitiki the symbols @ :⁄⁄ are suggestive of the eyes and gills of a fish and are symbols of the internet and network protocols we all use to get information.
