TV2 KidsFest is New Zealand's biggest annual children's festival. Aimed at kids up to the age of 12, there's nothing quite like it anywhere else in the country. TV2 KidsFest took place for the first time in 1992, beginning as an idea from the then Mayor, Vicki Buck. Since 1992 the festival has entertained over 350,000 children at over 1500 events.

Animal tails - stories to ROAR about

A snort, a bark, a cock-a-doodle-doo, get down to your library for an animal hullabaloo. Join storyteller Liz Weir and her menagerie of animal puppets for stories, songs and a little bit of mischief.


Cartooning, you can do it!

Have a go at cartooning, at this workshop with a real cartoonist. Special requirements: Bring your own drawing materials.


Crafty kids with Natalie Collins

Create fantastic glitter or pirate crowns, bangles and rings.

Frenzy2 - Youth party in the library

Attention Years 7 and 8!!! If you missed it the first time around here’s your chance to join in the madness and mayhem of Frenzy2.
Activities will include Playstation, Xbox, and crazy food challenges. Plus there’ll be giveaways, free food and much more…


The Magic of Reading

Popular entertainer Shad Rutherford will be presenting his 'Magic of Reading' show at New Brighton Library. Come and be amazed with Marvellous Magic, Funny Juggling and Fabulous Balloon Twisting, plus giveaways galore.
