Terms and Conditions
The 2007 Reading Crusade promotion is open to students from all primary and intermediate schools (Years 1 to 8 inclusive), together with any students of primary or intermediate age being home-schooled in the Canterbury Crusaders’ Super 14 franchise catchment area.
All children who register, read at least six books of their choice (fiction or non-fiction titles) and fill in a Reading Crusade entry form will successfully complete the Crusade and be eligible to receive a 2007 Reading Crusade certificate featuring the printed signatures of the Crusaders team. Entry forms must be received by Christchurch City Libraries no later than Monday 23 April 2007.
Major prizes
A grand prize will be awarded to SEVEN children, who will each be invited to watch a special training session at Jade Stadium on Thursday 3 May 2007 followed by lunch with members of the Canterbury Crusaders team. These seven winners will be drawn by random selection from the names of all children who successfully completed the Reading Crusade 2007.
A further 43 runner-up prize packs, comprising a book, rugby ball and one-day family pass to the pool complex at QEII Leisure Centre in Christchurch. These 43 winners will be drawn by random selection from the remaining names of all children who successfully completed the Reading Crusade 2007.
All winners of major prizes (grand and runner-up prizes) will be invited to attend the Reading Crusade prize giving in Christchurch on Wednesday 2 May 2007.
Bonus prizes
Additional prizes will be awarded for the Crusaders Online Quiz on the Reading Crusade web site. Two prize packs will be awarded each week for six weeks from 10 March to 22 April, 12 prize packs in total. The packs will comprise a $20 book voucher, rugby ball and one-day family pass to the pool complex at QEII Leisure Centre in Christchurch. These 2 weekly winners will be drawn by random selection each week from the names of all children submitting correct answers by the weekly entry deadline published on the web site. Weekly winners of the Crusaders Online Quiz will be advised during the week following the weekly deadline.
All classes registered for the 2007 Reading Crusade will be entered for the Take a kid to footy prize draws. 60 Take a kid to footy passes (one adult and one child) will be awarded to schools chosen by random selection. Tickets will be for the last three Crusaders’ home games of the seasons. Teachers of the classes selected by the draw will receive a pass to award to the most deserving student in their class.
There will also be two school prizes. The two schools that have the largest percentage participation (as a ratio of total student numbers at those individual schools) in the 2007 Reading Crusade will each receive a signed Canterbury Crusaders jersey for their school.
Winners of bonus prizes will not be invited to attend the Reading Crusade prize giving on Wednesday 2 May 2007.
Certificates
We hope to have sent out Participation Certificates by the end of next week, Friday May 11. These certificates, printed with the signatures of the Crusaders' team, are being posted to schools, all except for Home Schooled and Correspondence School students to whom we will be posting directly.
If you sent in an individual entry or entries the certificate will still be posted to your school, so in the first instance please ask your teacher for your certificate if you miss out on receiving one.
Teachers, please contact the library for additional certificates if insufficient quantities have been sent out to your school.
Catchment Area
The Canterbury Crusaders catchment area covers the top half of the South Island and includes the Canterbury, Tasman, Buller, Mid Canterbury, South Canterbury and West Coast rugby unions.
