Passengers’ contract ticket issued to Alfred and Eliza Rump to sail on the Merope, 1870
Alfred Vernard Rump and his wife Eliza, née Skipper, came out to Christchurch on the Merope, which sailed in July 1870. In Christchurch Mr. Rump became a butcher, and the couple had several children. This is a photocopy of their passenger ticket, which list full details of their fare, how it is to be repaid and their entitlement to provisions while sailing.
