The executive of the Maori carnival held at Lancaster Park

The Maori carnival at Lancaster Park was to raise funds for the Mahanui Maori Council. It was held on 12 and 13 Nov. 1903 and was the largest gathering of its kind since the Canterbury jubilee celebrations in 1900. About 200 attended and among those were representatives of the pas at Tuahiwi, Taumata, Port Levy, Little River, Raupaki (now Rapaki) and Temuka.
