This Maurice Carter home was built in a new subdivision off Wairakei Road. The development company, Maurice R. Carter Ltd, was founded in 1946. After World War Two ended in 1945, ex-servicemen returned home to settle down and build homes for their families. In the 1950s much of Bryndwr consisted of new subdivisions
