Opened on 11 July 1952 by Ewart Douglas, MPS, this is the longest established pharmacy in the north-west area of Christchurch. In 1952 it was on the outer fringes of Christchurch with open paddocks around it. The shop was doubled in size in 1967 and Ewart was joined in partnership by his nephew, Alistair Douglas, in 1972
