Thanksgiving for One Hundred Years of Progress : the Canterbury centennial service in Christchurch.

Part of the huge crowd in Cathedral Square during the centennial service of thanksgiving at the Cathedral. The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Geoffrey Fisher (1887-1972), and the Governor-General Sir Bernard Freyberg (1889-1963) was among those attending. An outdoor pulpit was built above the west door.
