The second Methodist church built at St Albans Lane, Christchurch

The foundation stone for this church in St Albans Lane, at the corner of Kerrs Lane, was laid by the Hon. John Thomas Peacock (1827-1905) on 16 Oct. 1868 and it opened on 11 Apr. 1869. It was burnt down in a suspicious fire in Jan. 1902. It was built to seat 270 people
