Caption: Hockey match at Sheffield : the teams. A match was played in the Sheffield Domain on August 27th between teams representing the newly-formed Malvern Ladies' Hockey club and a team of men in skirts, captained by Mr Geo. Rutherford (Dalethorpe). The match which created considerable local interest, was won by the men, after a spirited struggle, by two goals. Mr G. F. Wright was referee.
Description: This photo shows two hockey teams which played against one other at the Sheffield Domain on 27 August 1904. The ladies shown represented the newly formed Malvern Ladies' Hockey club whilst the men were a team of locals.
