Hornby Library 150 tukutuku panel
Hornby Library's tukutuku panel July 2009

Love to all
- Painted panel in wood, woven with bookbinding cloth
- 122 x 60 cm
This Panel was made as a collaboration between Hornby Library and Hornby High School, with help from Kaiako Maori teacher Bobby Te Tana. It is based on a design by Year 10 student Brandon Te Ariki Webster Francis. The panel is reminiscent of Patiki or patikitiki (flounder) designs that signify abundance and being able to provide 100% for the whole iwi. It carries the message arohanui meaning “big love”, or “much love” and in more expressive circumstances “enfolding love”, or “the love that binds a community together”.
